Storytelling for science communication workshop

Unlocking Science: A Storytelling Workshop in Nairobi!

On November 5, 2024, Nairobi buzzed with an exciting event: our Storytelling for Science Communication Workshop! We brought together a dynamic mix of scientists, seasoned storytellers, journalists, and various stakeholders, all united by a common goal – to revolutionize how we share science.

This wasn't just another lecture series. Through interactive sessions, participants dove deep into the art of storytelling, learning how to transform complex scientific concepts into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives. We explored the immense power of visuals and other creative tools in bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and everyday society.

Hosted right here in the vibrant heart of Nairobi, the workshop was a melting pot of collaboration and creativity. Attendees left not only inspired but also equipped with practical, real-world skills to elevate their science communication efforts.

As Erika Check Hayden, Director of the Science Communication Program at UC Santa Cruz, perfectly put it: "It was wonderful to join you for this workshop, Dr Patience Kiyuka, congratulations on the huge success of this event, which I hope will be the beginning of more science communication ventures!"
